we had raised a giant structure made from nanotech into the sky over the field behind miles away. it hovered there like an alien spaceship.
it was a white ceramic bell, perhaps a kilometer tall, and slightly transparent, like subsurface scattering but still much darker underneath.
the air chilled in the shadow, and condensation formed around the edges of the bell. it rained heavily on our little encampment in the field.
